AVA's Starved for Spring reception was a huge success with a near capacity crowd throughout the night. One of the highlights of the reception was the announcement of the show winners and the presentation of awards. Gregg Koeppel took first place honors with his oil on paneling ttiled "Scaredy Cat." Linda Robinson was awarded second place for her photograph "Elements." AVA newcomer and AHS art student Ashley Kammer took home the third place ribbon for her piece titled "Scorn." She also won the People's Choice award for "Scorn." Show Judge Terry Gunderson Schulta also awarded two honorable mention ribbons. These went to Laurie McConnell for her watercolor, "Drinking In the Beauty," and Jim Martinsen for his photograph titled "Victim of the Storm." Ashley, as well as all the other winners was presented her awards by AVA Gallery Director Rosemary Bauknecht.
